Rambo the first blood – Memorable Movie by Stallone

With the release of Rocky, Stallone was named an action star as the Rocky series had made huge business. Another action/thriller in the year 1982 hit the silver screen Rambo: The first blood directed by Ted Kotcheff. Stallone play John Rambo a misunderstood Vietnam War veteran.

Before Stallone was approached for the movie there was list of actor who turn down it project like Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Nick Nolte, John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, James Garner, Kris Kristofferson and Michael Douglas. Total budget of the movie First Blood was $15million but film made the business of $47 million domestically and $125million globally. But as compared to other films Rambo was a reasonable success for example Rocky3, E.T.,   released in the same year beat the collection of Rambo.

First blood was considered as one of the best film of 1982 and Stallone got a lot of appreciation on his performance in the movie. The movie was named 253^rd greatest film ever by Empire magazine on their 2008 list of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time.

Stallone had looked like lean prisoners of war Stallone consumed extremely modest diet every day. The food that he consumed was mostly protein food . He lost his weight to 159 pounds (about 72 kilogram).
